  1. I am delightfully taken aback by Ubuntu 7.04 i386's  wifi capability. In order
  2. to connect  my Dell Latitude D620 notebook to my Linksys adsl wifi router,
  3. I only needed to go through these few simple but innovative steps. The Latitude
  4. D620 comes with a IPW3945ABG wifi adapter. The IPW3945 driver natively
  5. available in Feisty Fawn.

A dialog box popped-up when Ubuntu's desktop was fully loaded up.

Upon clicking the Restricted Drivers icon/applet, I was lead

to this information.

Enough of fiddling with the Restricted Drivers manager, I left-click the

Knetworkmanager applet. Then I left-click the wifi network that I wanted

to join. Immediately, I was required to type in the passphrase.

12 seconds (after clicking on the Login To Network button) later, I was

required to create a default keyring.

Once I clicked on the OK button to create the default keyring, my Dell

Latitude D620 notebook was already connected to my Linksys wifi router.

To get more info about the wifi connection, I right-clicked the Knetwork-

manager's applet. Then, I left-clicked the  Connection Information option.
